This system is nothing new. It has been around for a long time. It has been proven to be mathematically sound.
The Martingale system is regularly claimed by some guru’s as being their own failsafe way of always winning at roulette, no matter what.
However we would like to be able to tell you the full and honest truth. First we will cover how it works as it is extremely simple.
Then we would however like to get into the potential pitfalls.
How it all works:
The idea behind the Martingale system is that you do progressive betting. Every time you place a bet and lose, you need to double your losing bet. All bets need to be placed on either black or red.
So if you bet $1 and lose, you need to bet $2 on the next bet, then $4 on the next bet if you lost all of them. If you win you start again at betting $1 at a time.
The result will be that you win $1 from every series of betting. If you started initially with a bet of say $5 and kept doubling that after each loss, you would win a total of $5 once you hit a winning spin.
So far, so good. There is however a possible downside.
Say you start with a bankroll of $100 and you start with your first bet of $5. If you hit a losing streak of losses of $5, then $10, then $20, then $40, then you would run out of chips before you hit a winning spin.
There might also be a limit at the table on what size bets you can place, for example $20 bets.
So you need to look at all of the different things and consider if you are willing to take the risks.
